Hello, my name is Mercedes! I have this wonderful, kind-hearted, sweet, and beautiful friend that I’ve known for many, many years. If any of you know Summer, you know that she has the most amazing soul and will give the shirt off her back and the last $5 in her pocket for ANYONE that needs it. She has 3 sons whom she loves to DEATH! She also has a service dog, Aussie, named Maggie, a Chihuahua named Reese, and a Sharpei named Stella. She has also been practicing veterinary medicine for 12+ years! Currently she is a vestry practice manager and is a kick ass boss! At this moment, she is battling lung cancer and is set to have wedge resection surgery on her lung. Fingers crossed, it will fully dissect the entire tumor. In the meantime, she will be losing out on work and will need all the help she can get. She also battles with Type 1 Diabetes, which is a very difficult condition to manage and needs a constant glucose monitor to maintain her health. She would NEVER ask for handouts, NEVER ask for anything from anyone, but as her best friend, I felt like it was my duty to do this for her. She is a light in a dark place and lives life so humbly. Life has come at her like a train and any little help will go a long way. Thank you to everyone!!!
